Unnatural Patterns and Veining
With granite tiles and slabs, your home gets a visual effect that feels natural thanks to unique patterns and a lack of uniformity. With engineered stone, uniform patterns are visible if you look closely at the surface. Quartz slabs and tiles simply look perfect because they’re manufactured to look a certain way, whereas each slab of granite or other natural stone is unique because they’re quarried from the earth. With installed countertops, there’s also the matter of seams, which are visible in the case of granite but not so with quartz because the latter is often fabricated into a full slab that doesn’t require cutting or joining.

Check the Granite Seal with the Water Test
Unlike granite, laminates, ceramics, and engineered stone don’t feature porous surfaces. Sealing is an essential part of granite care, as it protects against stains and etches. You can find out if granite has been sealed by performing a simple water test. Pour water (about 3 inches in diameter) on the surface in several locations and let it sit for 30 minutes. If you see a dark mark or ring, the water is penetrating the stone and it’s time to reseal.
In addition to sealing and cleaning granite regularly, you should also make it a point to include the use of a specially formulated granite polish in your stone care regimen. Like all of the other products we provide, Granite Gold Polish is safe to use on granite, marble, travertine, and all other types of natural stone.
OTHER SIMILAR GRANITES

It is naturally resistant to heat and Cracks so cookware, kitchen knives, and cutlery can all be used on granite countertops without the fear of scratching the surface. Varieties of Granite:
If you are looking for a tough and high-efficiency tile to give the stylish look to your design space, then you can go for granite. This stone comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns in the form of slabs to make it adjustable to any space. Here is the variety of Granite which can help you with your granite countertop needs.
Colonial White Granite is known for its consistent veining with grays, blues and taupe highlighted in the stone.

Super White Granite is not granite at all. It’s actually a quartzite, which is harder than granite and has equal or better durability. Some suppliers actually list it as marble, so check for a supplier that charges a granite price and save money. And, to add to the confusion, it is also called Fantasy White in some areas and White Vermont in the Northeast.

Kashmir White Granite is found in the same areas where Garnets are found in Southern India. As a result, it sometimes has small inclusions of garnets embedded in the slab. The patterns of greys and black mica give an overall salt and pepper appearance with swaths of veining running across it.

Alaska White Granite from Brazil is a beautiful blend of palest silver and frosty whites highlighted with neutrals and onyx hues that glitter with a warm glow in the sunlight and under kitchen lighting. Because it comes in a fairly large range of slab sizes, it is an ideal choice for any application in the kitchen.

Moon White Granite comes from a mine in India where rust and taupe colors predominate due to oxidation over millions of years. The slab colors are consistent year after year which makes this ideal for doing one countertop at a time if the budget demands it. Rarely, if ever, does this granite have black spots.

White Galaxy Granite is one of the granites mined in China. The striking blue, gray swirls, and dark blue specks that occur in this granite is the key to its personality.

Slab:
• Better for kitchens with a modern, contemporary look or small kitchens with a simple layout.
• It requires professional care and labor because of the weight.
• Usually takes about a day to put it in
• It Will also require re-sealing on occasion, but it will not require maintenance on a regular basis.
• Easier to clean, which makes it better for kitchen function
Tiles:
• Involves laying the materials in a specific way, adding the grout in between and allowing the grout to dry for several hours.
• Best for complicated counter layouts and difficult spaces.
• It can be a good DIY project to save money on your remodel.
• May look low-quality in upscale kitchens.
• Must have a hidden countertop underneath.
• Grout must be sealed apart from the stone, match it exactly, resealed on a regular basis and regularly scrubbed to remove food.
Most homeowners choose slab styles unless they’re looking for a quick solution. These styles last longer, are easier to put in and come with less maintenance. While they’re less expensive, tiles could be more expensive in the long run.

FEATURES OF GRANITE
Appearance:
The first benefit of granite is its appearance. Granites are generally light dark or pastel in color. The range of granite can be started from rs50/sqft and above.
Lifespan:
The second advantage of granite is that this natural stone countertop has a long lifespan. In fact, granite just like marble can last upwards of 100 years, when it is properly maintained and cared for. This means that you will never have to replace the countertop in your home during your lifetime.
Cleanliness:
The third feature of granite is that they are easy to clean. Granite can be wiped down with warm, soapy water when they are dirty or they begin to look dusty. After wiping them down with soapy water, follow up with a cool, damp cloth to remove soap residue. Other stone countertops, including marble, need to be cleaned with stone cleaners. These cleaners can be pricey. Since onyx can be cleaned with a mild soap, such as dish soap, it makes cleaning inexpensive and simple.

Lighting:
One of the more unique benefits to granite is that granite is a translucent stone.
Value:
The final advantage of granite countertops is that it can add value to your home.
There are many factors that determine whether a countertop will add value to your home and just how much value the new material will add. The price of your home and what people looking for in that price range drastically influence the return on investment you will get for home renovation projects, including installing a new countertop.

USES & APPLICATIONS Monuments – built to last
From gravestones to temples, monuments that are intended to last down the generations are often made of granite. Before power tools existed, carving granite was laborious and time-consuming, so the stone was often reserved for important projects. Already a number one, the uses of granite already show popular with monuments that are built to last.

A core of strength
What do Roman bridges, the Pyramids and cathedrals have in common? Granite of course! Many ancient and historic buildings use granite to create a core of strength at their centers. As granite can be polished to a beautiful sheen or clad in another stone, it was commonly used for supporting pillars.

Beautiful floors
Polished granite is a stunning natural stone, and is often used alongside marble in stone floors. While marble often has very striking veining, granite typically has a more subtle patterning making the two stones perfect complements.

Paths and patios
Granite paving slabs are ideal for use outdoors as they are very tough and weather-resistant. Many people are surprised at the number of shades of granite that are available – paving slabs come in a wide range of hues, from red to green, as well as the well-known greys and blacks.

External cladding and building blocks
Halfway through our 10 great uses of granite, we have building blocks. Roughhewn granite looks very different from the high gloss finished stone you’ll often see indoors. Many cultural groups use rough-hewn granite as building blocks or cladding for important buildings such as town halls and religious buildings.

Mosaics and tile patterns
As natural granite is available in many colors, it’s entirely possible to create a mosaic or tile pattern using only this stone. Using a single type of tough stone is a good way to ensure that no part of the patterned floor wears out.

Backsplashes and bathroom tiles
Modern technologies allow us to cut granite into thinner tiles than ever before, making it an ideal choice for a backsplash or tiled bathroom. As a result, Granite is waterproof and stain-resistant. This makes it easy to handle the damp and dirt.

Using larger slabs of granite is a great way to preserve and display the beauty of the stone. Granite mantels and stairs are popular thanks to their blend of beauty and practicality: granite mantels won’t catch fire and granite stairs won’t wear out.
